Whistle While You Work

I finally got the chance to clean! Hallelujah! Last night was SOOO long! Landon would not fall asleep and stay asleep! Just as soon as I would be ready to lay him down his eyes would pop open! Needless to say I was exhausted when I finally got into bed this morning at 5:30! Landon slept all morning which gave me a chance to sleep a little then get some cleaning done! I swept the house and got the mop water ready so I could mop the house. I put on some socks, then put socks on Joe so I wouldn't have paw prints dried to my floor like always! So, here's Joe in some little socks that I wouldn't be able to use for Landon (they came with little blue ribbons, not so manly). So, Landon woke up just as I started to mop, and since he hadn't eaten for four hours I figured I better stop and feed him. Maybe I'll mop next week?

Bath Time

I can't say how happy I am that Landon's umbilical cord finally fell off!! Now he can enjoy baths! We put him in his tub for the first time and he seemed to like it! Tyler usually does the scrubbing and I do the drying, lotioning and snuggling! This has been great for getting Landon to sleep at night (as long as we do it later at night). I'm so glad that Landon takes good baths, its a fun time for the whole family... as you can see Joe is very involved! Sorry about the pictures I couldn't figure out how to delete them so I could turn them around!

Pictures and Stories!!

So here's some pictures... just trying to get them all out there so I can stay "caught up!" So, from bottom to top... Tyler and Landon hanging out on the couch (sleeping was all Landon did for the first week of his life!) The next is a picture of Joe hanging out on my mom's blow up mattress while she was staying at our house. Every morning I would walk out and find Joe curled up, and on occasion sprawled out, next to my mom on the mattress. He loved to snuggle up next to her. This created some pretty funny moments like when Joe flew off the mattress when someone got on it (I can't remember who) or maybe it was someone flew off when Joe got on? I can't remember but we had a good time! :)
The next picture up is hard to see but it's Landon when he was strapped to a billiruben belt for having some serious jaundice issues. We had to keep him in his bassinet with this big light around his belly all day for the first week or so. As you can see he looked like a little glow worm! It was sad because I wanted to snuggle him but he's doing good now.
Then we have my dad holding him! When we went to Snowflake we spent one evening in Holbrook with my family because my dad hadn't seen Landon yet and my Grandma Dulcie was there too!
The top two pictures are of my Grandma Dulcie holding Landon! It was so good to see her! I never knew that she is AMAZING with babies. As soon as we walked in I just passed him off to her and he was perfectly content! My grandma is the best! It was nice to sit down and talk to her, she's so full of love and great advice!

The Traveling Huish Family

Landon has been quite a traveler since he's joined our family! My mom and sister came to stay with us for the first week and half then we packed up and headed for Snowflake to spend some time with Tyler's family. We had such a nice time! It was nice and cool... we were all able to sit on the porch and watch the rain. Joe loved running free in the backyard all day! He even made some dog friends. He ran off for the first time with his "friends" and was gone for a while so my father-in-law and I took the 4 wheeler out to search and rescue! We drove around for a while before I spotted a lonely, lost little boxer. After he realized he knew us I think he was relieved to be found. The other dogs had left him and he was a little shaken up. My father-in-law picked him up and held him on the the 4 wheeler while I drove us home! It was so fun! I married into such a great family! We really enjoyed being there! Here's a picture of our family and Landon being cuddled by his uncle Spencer!

Landon's Due Date

Today was Landon's due date... but apparently he has other plans! No worries! I thought he might be a little stubborn so we scheduled an induction for tomorrow! So, here's our little adventure this week -
I went to my doctor's appointment on Tuesday at 3:10pm. Everything was looking good, I was 2 cm dilated and 70% effaced. The doctor stripped my membranes to try and help me go into labor before the 4th. Two hours later I was experiencing pretty hard contractions that were only 2-5 minutes apart! Of course I got all emotional and Tyler and I finished packing the last minute items into our bags. We went to the hospital at 7pm completely confident that this was it!! Ha... NO! The contractions weren't helping me dilate! They were just hurting! So, after some routine business they were worried I might have warning signs of preclampsia so we were scheduled for some additional tests and an ultrasound for Thursday (today), and sent home - No Landon... :( and a small possibility of being induced on the 3rd!
Today we went in for the tests at 10. Somehow I have caught a head cold and I couldn't sleep all last night so the morning was somewhat miserable. Going to the hospital was not bad. Tyler and I hung out playing Phase 10 while Landon and I were being monitored! Fortunately, both of us are healthy, and unfortunately we were sent home - No Landon :(.
So, it looks like tomorrow is the day! We are so excited! My parents are coming and helping take care of Joe, Holli might be coming, and Tyler's family is also coming sometime! I'm so excited to be having the first Huish grand baby!! We'll see how it goes... but at least when we go to the hospital tomorrow we know that we'll be coming home with our little Landon! :)
